A SCOTTISH Celebration of Dance

The Global Ageing Network, Scottish Care and the National Care Forum were delighted to invite conference delegates to dance the night away at the end of a wonderful week of activities to close out the Global Ageing Conference in Scotland.

On the evening of Friday 8th September participants were able to experience the true meaning of “having a wee jig” at the beautiful Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow.  Together, guests learned traditional Scottish ceilidh dances steeped in our dancing history – from Strip the Willow; the Dashing White Sergeant; the Gay Gordons, and so many more! This exciting, festive event was held in the most beautiful location.  The Old Fruitmarket, built in 1817 to serve the people of Glasgow with fruit in times gone by, is now a state-of-the-art music venue that also houses the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Celtic Connections Festival and more!
