Call for abstracts for posters at global ageing conference

The 2023 Global Ageing Network’s biennial conference is taking place in Glasgow in conjunction with Scottish Care and the National Care Forum on 7th & 8th September 2023. This international conference will showcase innovative and forward-looking programmes and approaches from around the world, offering a stimulating forum for the exchange of both practical knowledge and new strategies focused on the provision of high-quality care and support. The conference offers the opportunity to learn about innovative practices, explore new ideas, and create environments that maximise the quality of life for those who require/access care and support.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Our call to research and innovation communities for poster abstracts is now open and will close on Wednesday 28th June 2023 at 17:00 (British Summer Time)

The overarching topic of the conference is sustainable care & support: this includes the three key themes of the conference which are:

  • human rights
  • models of care
  • music & visual arts & creativity

We are also keen to hear about:

  • sustainable building design for care settings/ services
  • future proofing care settings
  • technology enabled care
  • person-centred care technology
  • housing for older people
  • creating a sustainable workforce

Please submit your poster abstract by Wednesday 28 June 2023 17:00 (British Summer Time). You can submit via the portal below.

Your abstract must be no more than 250 words maximum.

If your abstract is accepted, you will need to submit your poster by Monday 31 July for review. If we feel any tweaks are needed, we will tell you as soon as possible. You will also need to register to attend the conference to present your poster.

Poster format – all poster presentations will take place in person on either September 7th or 8th, and posters will be displayed digitally (i.e. on a screen), and in landscape layout, a 16 x 9 PowerPoint slide with 250 – 500 words maximum. You are responsible for the design of your poster – the conference organisers cannot support poster design.

You will also need to give your permission to share the digital poster after the conference as a digital poster e- book is planned.

Successful poster authors may also want to consider how to share their future research ideas/ next steps on research questions as there may be an opportunity to write an article/ blog post conference to share reflections on the conference and future research plans.
